The article deals with the factor of self-affirmation, which is closely related to the level of personality’s claims. Itacts as an active stimulus in the development of self-esteem as a system of a teenager’s dynamically forming attitudes towards his or her own “I”, stimulates his or heractivity, and encourages him or her to find appropriate ways to fulfill the need for self-affirmation. The driving force behind the fulfillment of this need is often the interaction between a teenager’s self-esteem and the opinions of those around him or her. Self-affirmation is a dynamic source of self-esteem that focuses on an individual’s real actions and deeds.
